Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's basketball team fell to visiting Salisbury 53-39 in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night.  The Saints and the Sea Gulls split their season series, winning on each other's home courts.

Senior Maame Amponsah led the Saints with a game-high 17 points to go with a contest-best 13 rebounds for a double-double.  Juniors Shannon Gough and Jackie Bohenek added six points each and senior Beth Wiggins chipped in eight rebounds to go with seven assists.

Marymount (9-8, 7-4 CAC) led early and by as many as three on an Amponsah layup at the 16:36 mark.  The Sea Gulls would rally back, tying the game at 8-8 with 12:37 to play as part of an 8-0 run that gave them the lead for good.

Salisbury (8-12, 5-6 CAC) extended its lead to double figures to end the first half and pushed its advantage to as many as 17 in the second stanza.  The Saints battled back to cut the deficit to nine with just over seven minutes to play but couldn't close the gap any further.

Glen Charlton tied Amponsah's game-high of 17 points while KC Curran added 11 and Milan dry chipped in 10.  Katie McGahagan pulled down a team-best 11 rebounds.

Marymount returns to the hardwood on Saturday at St. Mary's (Md.).  The Saints previously defeated the Seahawks 57-56 in January.
