SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior Caitlin Moser (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) moved into second on Gettysburg's career scoring list, but the milestone was bittersweet as Swarthmore handed the Bullets their worst loss of the season 64-47 inside Tarble Pavilion on Saturday.

Swarthmore (12-7, 8-6 CC) ended an 11-game losing streak to Gettysburg (14-5, 9-5 CC) by holding the visitors to their second-worst shooting performance of the season at 30.2 percent (19-63). The Garnet reserves played a key role in the win, out-scoring the Bullet reserves 41-19.

Moser led Gettysburg with a dozen points to jump past Sue Marshall '85 (1,457) and Ann Hymes '96 (1,462) into second on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,463 points. Jennifer Bengel '06 is the Bullets' scoring leader with 1,701 points.

Just 12 days ago, Gettysburg led from start-to-finish in a 25-point blowout inside Bream Gym. The Bullets shot 50 percent in that contest, but that shooting touch was absent on Saturday as the visitors connected on only 7-of-34 field goals (20.6 percent) in the opening half. Despite the cold shooting, Gettysburg jumped out to a 12-7 lead by the midpoint of the first stanza.

The Bullets connected on only two field goals for the remainder of the half, while the Garnet put up a 20-8 run to take a 27-20 lead into the break.

In the second half, Swarthmore's bench established itself with 25 points, including a dozen by Kayla Moritzky, as the lead steadily expanded. Gettysburg whittled a 13-point deficit down to seven on a jumper by sophomore Alyssa Ourlser (Middletown, Md./Middletown) with 6:51 left to play, but the hosts retaliated with a 14-1 run capped with a three-point by Moritzky to jump ahead by 20 points (61-41) with just over two minutes left.

Gettysburg's previous worst loss this season was a 66-53 setback at Franklin & Marshall College on Dec. 8. Saturday's loss also snapped a five-game win streak for the Bullets.

Moser and junior Julie McGrory (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) combined for 20 points and 11 rebounds, but the Bullets' leading scorers were a combined 9-of-31 from the field. Ourlser posted 10 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and two blocks, while junior Sara Kinsley (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) put up eight points, five boards, and two blocks.

Moritzky finished with a game-high 15 points on five three-points and Katie Lytle added a dozen points and nine rebounds off the bench. Kathryn Stockbower just missed a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Gettysburg returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Centennial Conference front-runner Johns Hopkins University (16-3, 13-2 CC) at 6 p.m.
