Boston, Mass. – Fueled by 17 second half points by senior guard Ashley Wright (Merrimack, N.H.), the Endicott women's basketball team defeated TCCC opponent Wentworth Institute 61-27 and won their sixth straight game.

Endicott (11-4, 5-0 TCCC) held Wentworth (8-9, 2-3 TCCC) to just 18.5% shooting for the game, as the Gulls kept their spot among the undefeated teams in the conference.

Wright, who finished with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-13 from the floor, added four rebounds, four assists, and a pair of blocks to her performance.  Fellow seniors Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, Mass.) and Brittany Kelleher (Wakefield, Mass.) contributed to the win with Vitale netting nine points and Kelleher grabbing 10 rebounds.

In the opening stanza, the two teams traded baskets with Leopards guard Ashley Conway (Danvers, Mass.) putting the hosts on top before Wright's first basket tied the game.  Wentworth's Meagan Pennock (Littleton, N.H.) hit a shot to put her team up 4-2, but the Blue and Green responded with an 8-0 run kicked off by a jumper by sophomore Jen McBrien (Medway, Mass.) that evened the score.  Vitale scored five of those eight points.

Later in the half, Endicott went on another 9-0 run to push their lead to 19-7 before settling on an 11-point advantage at halftime at 23-12.

Wentworth failed to score in the final 1:45 of the first half and continued that streak for another 6:07 into the second half.  The Gulls ran up an 18-0 score during that time resulting in the convincing double-digit Endicott victory.

Jen McBrien finished with eight points for the Gulls while freshmen Jordan Ferland (Charlestown, N.H.) and Samantha Crough (Cohasset, Mass.) each added six points off the bench.  Cate Cullen (Beverly, Mass.) dished out four assists in 11 minutes off the bench.

The Gulls outrebounded the Leopards 58-26 in the game.

Wentworth was paced by freshman forward Kendra Kerr (Marshfield, Mass.), who had eight points and eight rebounds.

Both teams are in action Thursday, with Endicott hosting Roger Williams at 6:00 pm and Wentworth traveling to Salve Regina.
