BOSTON, Mass. – Senior guard Ashley Wright (Merrimack, N.H.) connected on 7 of 13 shots for a game-high 19 points as the Endicott women's basketball team remained undefeated in The Commonwealth Coast Conference play with a 61-27 win over Wentworth in a TCCC matchup played at Tansey Gymnasium.

The two teams traded baskets to open the contest with sophomore guard Ashley Conway (Danvers, Mass.) putting the Leopards on top before Wright's first basket tied the game.  Junior guard Meagan Pennock (Littleton, N.H.) put the Leopards ahead, 4-2, with 17:22 left before a jumper by sophomore guard Jen McBrien (Medway, Mass.) would tie the game.

That basket would start an 8-0 run, fueled by five straight points from senior forward Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, Mass.), and gave the Gulls a 10-4 lead before a Conway three pointer cut the lead to 10-7 with 12:34 left in the half.

Endicott went on a 9-0 run to up the lead to 19-7 and would eventually lead at the half by 11, 23-12.  The Gulls held the Leopards to just 5-for-33 shooting (15.2 percent) over the first 20:00.

After holding the hosts scoreless for the final 1:45 of the first half, Endicott opened the second half on an 18-0 run before senior forward Kirsten Vallone (Avon, N.Y.) ended the drought 6:07 into the second half.

In addition to her 19 points, Wright had four rebounds, four assists, and a pair of blocks.  Vitale added nine points, while senior forward Brittany Kelleher (Wakefield, Mass.) had 10 rebounds.

Wentworth, which shot just 18.5 percent for the game, was paced by freshman forward Kendra Kerr (Marshfield, Mass.), who had eight points and eight rebounds.

With the win, Endicott's sixth in a row, the Gulls improve to 11-4 overall and 5-0 in conference play.  Wentworth falls to 8-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play.  Both teams are in action Thursday, with Endicott hosting Roger Williams and Wentworth traveling to Salve Regina.
