BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England Nor'easters held Eastern Nazarene College to 13 first-half points on their way to a 64-29 The Commonwealth Coast Conference victory Wednesday evening at the Campus Center.

The win was the 10th for the Nor'easters (10-6, 3-1 TCCC), who reached double digits in victories for the 22nd consecutive season. The Lions fall to 2-13 overall, 1-3 in conference play.

Junior forward Margo Russell (Madison, Maine) scored a game-high 14 points to lead the way for the Nor'easters. Russell made three shots from long distance and handed out four assists. Senior guard Carrie Bunnell (Barnet, Vt.) and junior guard Kelley Paradis (Newport, Maine) added 11 points apiece.

Sophomore center Shardae Brown (Waterbury, Conn.) tallied nine points for Eastern Nazarene. Classmate Alexis Molloy (Greenbelt, Md.) collared a game-best 16 rebounds to go with six steals and a pair of blocks.

UNE left little doubt about the outcome, scoring the first 13 points of the contest on its way to an early 19-4 lead. Big Blue pushed its lead to 27 (33-6) with 5:13 remaining in the opening frame before settling for a 37-13 advantage at intermission.

The Lions shot just 18.5 percent (5 of 27) over the opening 20 minutes while turning the ball over 18 times.

The Nor'easters' second-half lead fluctuated between 24 points and the final margin of 35 (64-29).

For the game, Eastern Nazarene converted 12 of 62 (19.4 percent) field goal attempts and was forced into 34 miscues. The Lions held a 52-32 advantage on the glass, with more than half (27) of those caroms coming on the offensive end.

Both teams return to action Saturday. The Nor'easters head to Paxton, Mass. to take on Anna Maria College at 1 p.m. Eastern Nazarene hosts Regis College at that same time.
