Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team improved to 5-1 in conference play on Wednesday evening as they knocked off Lehman by a 62-54 final score.  Brooklyn is now 9-6 overall while Lehman falls to 9-7 and 3-3 in league play.

Brooklyn started the game hot as they opened up a quick 10-point lead, 15-5, just 5:28 into play.  Ariel Smith scored the first six points of the game for the Bulldogs as she knocked down two shots from long distance to open the scoring.

Lehman was able to chip away at the lead and then capitalized on Brooklyn foul trouble by going on a 15-5 run to end the half, taking a 33-30 advantage into the locker room.

The Bulldogs came out of the locker room with five straight points to take a 35-33 lead, but Lehman came back with an 8-3 run of their own to capture a 41-38 lead.  An Amber Gordon lay-up sparked an 11-0 run that put BC in control of the game, 49-41, with 7:30 remaining.

Lehman would not cut the lead to any closer than four, as Brooklyn held on for their third consecutive conference victory.

Justine O'Callahan led Brooklyn with 19 points and 9 rebounds.  Smith had 16 points and dished out a game-high 7 assists.

Tiayana Logan had a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with 8 points.  Elisha Riaford chipped in with 6 points and 7 rebounds off the Bulldog bench.

Amanda De La Cruz scored a team-high 28 points for Lehman in the loss.

The Bulldogs will travel to Baruch on Friday where they will take on the defending champions at 5:00 pm, while Lehman will head home to host the Cardinals of York College on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
