Centenary Women’s Basketball Wins Third Straight

LANGHORNE, Pa. (January 17, 2011) – Junior Jen Vasta (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) and sophomore Katy DeGraw (Tyler Hill, Pa./Honesdale) finished with 26 and 21 points, respectively, to lead the Centenary women's basketball team (7-6, 4-1 CSAC) to a convincing 92-56 victory over Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Philadelphia Biblical (1-11, 0-4 CSAC), Monday in Langhorne, Pa.

Vasta, the reigning CSAC Player of the Week, shot 11-of-12 from the field and recorded three steals, three assists, two rebounds and one block. For DeGraw, her points total marks a personal-best. She also set career-highs in field goals and attempts, shooting eight-of-11 from the floor.

Centenary recorded a field goal percentage of 56.1 percent (37-of-66), a season-high. The Cyclones held their opponent to just 38.2 percent from the field (21-of-55) and outrebounded the Crimson Eagles, 43-24. CC recorded 15 steals and scored 31 points off of turnovers while recording their largest margin of victory since a 108-59 win over Baptist Bible on Feb. 6, 2010.

The Cyclones return to action on Thursday, Jan. 20, with a home game against Marywood at 6:00 p.m. as part of a double header with the men's team on Pack the Gym day.
