Senior captains Christine Daniels and Laurel McWilliams both saw their statistics reach double-double figures in the afternoon game.

McWilliams led the attack with 24 points and 18 boards, while Daniels netted 12 baskets and 14 rebounds to continue to hold her place as the national leader among the NCAA Division-III for double-doubles.

McWilliams made two steals on the Sharks and earned three assists. Daniels made two blocks to keep Simmons from reaching the basket.

Senior Karissa Doyon contributed 12 points to the final score, sinking seven of these points from the line while making one basket and one 3-pointer.

Norwich controlled the momentum of the game for the majority of the first half, but the Sharks pulled ahead just before the halftime buzzer to hold a 33-32 lead going into the locker rooms.

The Cadets took the lead right back in the second half with a 3-pointer by McWilliams to push them ahead 35-33. The Sharks stayed in the game to gain the lead twice more, but were overcome in the ninth minute of the half and were unable to catch the Cadets before time ran out.

Norwich will play at Mount Ida for their next GNAC game, as tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, followed by the men at 7 p.m. in the double-header event.
