PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.--Kathleen Payne scored 18 points off the bench, Nora Campbell pulled down 17 rebounds and Lindsey Larivee hit the game-winning layup with 56 seconds left in overtime to lead the Plattsburgh State women's basketball team to a 64-63 come-from-behind non-conference victory Tuesday against Clarkson at Memorial Hall. The hosts improve to 4-6 overall while the Golden Knights--winless away from home at 0-5--are now 3-7 overall.

Clarkson's desperation shot from half-court missed as the overtime buzzer expired and Plattsburgh celebrated winning back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Payne, who had five of the Cardinals' 10 points in the extra session, also had nine rebounds. Stephanie McCoy added 12 points and Catherine Cassidy nearly had a triple-double with 11 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

The Knights' Chrissy Scanlon, who sent the game into overtime on a free throw with 28 seconds left, led all players with 21 points and Noelle Miller chipped in 10. Lauren Pluchino and Sierra Noles both had nine rebounds.

Miller converted a layup to give Clarkson its largest lead of the game at 38-27 with 12:11 remaining in the second half. But then Cassidy and McCoy combined for 11 points during a 13-3 Plattsburgh run to cut the deficit to 41-40 at 8:15. Payne made a layup to give the Cardinals their first lead since the opening basket, 44-43. 

Clarkson held a slim 25-23 lead at the intermission. Plattsburgh, which held a five-point lead at the 1:55 mark, could have won it in regulation, but McCoy's runner in the lane bounced off the back of the rim. The teams were tied 54-all going into the 5-minute overtime.

With Clarkson up 60-55 and 3:41 left in the game, Scanlon committed a shooting foul and then was whistled for a technical for arguing to foul out. Payne then hit 3-of-4 free throws and the Golden Knights began to unravel to set the stage for Larivee's heroics.
