ASHLAND, Va. – Maggie Roy netted 14 of her game-high 24 points in the second half of Randolph-Macon College's 70-62 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over visiting Guilford College Friday night.

Roy started and finished a decisive 15-4 Yellow Jackets' (6-4, 4-1 ODAC) run midway through the second period  that turned a one-point deficit into a 10-point lead. Her three-pointer with 14:19 left opened the spurt and marked the game's sixth (and final) lead change. Her layup with 9:44 to play capped the run and gave Randolph-Macon a 49-39 edge.

Sparked by freshman Gabby Oglesby, the Quakers (6-4, 2-3 ODAC) cut the deficit to three with six minutes left and trailed 61-57 with 2:25 remaining. Oglesby scored all of her 10 points in the final 14:39, but Randolph-Macon iced the win by making six-of-seven free throws in the final two minutes.

Katie Williams added 16 points for Randolph-Macon, 10 in the second half, and four assists. Taylor Wieczorek totaled eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Roy grabbed seven boards as Randolph-Macon held a 42-36 rebounding edge. Its 17 offensive rebounds led to 18 second-chance points.

Jazlyn Gibbs and Morgan King both scored 17 points for Guilford. King added eight rebounds and a blocked shot. Oglesby rejected four Randolph-Macon shots one game after tying the school record with five rejections in a game with Hollins University.

The Quakers visit league-rival Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday (1/9) at 4:00 p.m.
