Offensive woes continue for Hendrix in 59-47 loss at Dallas

IRVING, Texas (Jan. 2) -- Hendrix College's offensive struggles continued in its 59-47 loss to University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon at the Maher Athletic Center. The Warriors shot under 28 percent from the field for the second consecutive game and have shot under 30 percent in three of their last four contests.

Seniors Cara Sczepanski and Joirdan Cole both recorded double-doubles to lead Dallas to its third all-time win in 21 contests against Hendrix. Sczepanski tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds while Cole notched 10 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Kylie Yoshimura led the Crusaders with 19 points and four assists.

Hendrix jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes, however, Dallas answered with a 16-2 run to earn the only lead change it would need. The Crusaders led the rest of the way and would take a 26-22 advantage into the break.

Junior Avery Roller scored five points in less than a minute to bring the Warriors to within two points, 31-29, with 16:55 left in regulation. Dallas pulled away once again with a 10-2 run over the next three minutes. Hendrix came as close as seven points on one occasion the rest of the way.

Juniors Katy Ashley-Pauley and Caty Hensy led Hendrix with 10 points apiece. First year Jamie Tate paced the Warriors with six rebounds.

Hendrix will be back in action when the team travels to Georgetown, Texas to face Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Southwestern University on Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. CT.
