Dickman's Double-Double Leads Fifth-Ranked Saints to a 66-60 Win Over Centre

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - Senior center Nicole Dickman (Park Hills, Ky./Notre Dame) recorded her third double-double of the season to help lead the fifth-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team to a 66-60 win over in-state rival Centre College tonight (Thursday, December 30, 2010) at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 10-0 on the season and with the loss, Centre falls to 7-4.

Thomas More raced out to a 16-2 lead when sophomore guard Chelsea Tolliver (Morning View, Ky./Simon Kenton) made a three-pointer with 14:32 to play in the first half.  Centre answered with a 27-15 run to cut the lead to 31-29 with 2:44 to play in the half when Amanda Stovall made a three-pointer.  Thomas More extended the lead to 36-29 with 16-seconds to play in the half when Dickman made two free-throws, but Stovall then made a jumper with one second to play in the half to cut the lead to 36-31 at halftime.

The Saints opened the second half on a 17-9 run to extend the lead to 53-40 when sophomore guard Jill Brunsman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) made a jumper with 9:18 to play in the game.  Centre responded with an 18-9 run capped by a three-point play by Maggie Prewitt with 1:04 to play in the game to cut the lead to 62-58.  Thomas More closed out the half on a 6-2 run for the final score of 66-60.

Three Saints finished in double-figure scoring as Tolliver had 16 points, Dickman had 16 points and 11 rebounds for her double-double and Brunsman finished with 14 points.  Tolliver led the team in assists with four, while Dickman led the team in steals with two.

Thomas More returns to action on Monday (January 3, 2011) when it travels to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to play Geneva College at 5:30 p.m.
