Cal Lutheran's defense wreaked havoc in the Marietta backcourt forcing 30 turnovers and forced the Pioneers into short front court possessions. The Regals led 31-8 at halftime after the Pioneers scored just two points over the final 12 minutes, 32 seconds of the first period.

Starla Wright's 14 points, 13 rebounds double-double was the second in as many days and third of the season with the sophomore pulling down 10 boards in the first half. The second-year Regal attributes the team's recent success to several different factors and figures among the team.

For the second straight game the Regals never trailed as Chelsey Hastigan hit the opening three-pointer in both contests. The outside shooting specialist knocked down 3-of-6 from three scoring 11 points and dished out a game-high four assists.

Channing Fleischmann was a force on both sides of the ball scoring eight points and grabbing three steals in the first half. Her five steals led a group of five Regals that snatched three or more steals in the game.

Marietta's Aleisha Guiler scored the team's opening six points and finished with 12 to lead the Pioneers. The MC quartet of Aleisha Guiler, Tori Dixon, Rachel Jones and Mallory Hoff that had averaged over 50 points per contest heading into the night, totaled just 25 against the Regals.

Hoff led Marietta with 13 rebounds and three blocked shots.

Cal Lutheran (4-5) will host the 2010 Posada Royale Best Western Holiday Classic on Dec. 30-31 and begin the two-day event against UC Santa Cruz on Thursday at 2 p.m.
