Millikin Women’s Basketball Rolls Over Blackburn

            The Millikin women's basketball team rolled over Blackburn College 93-35 in the Harriett Crannell Holiday Classic at Millikin on Dec. 19.  Millikin is now 7-3 while Blackburn falls to 1-9.

            Millikin was dominating starting the game on a 22-0 run before building a 47-16 advantage at halftime.

            Millikin shot 55 percent from the field including 61 percent (11-18) from three point range.  The Big Blue limited Blackburn to 25 percent shooting from the field.  Millikin out rebounded Blackburn 46-30.

            Millikin's Elise Wildman had another double double with 19 points and 19 rebounds.  Nikki Tipsword came off the bench to also score 19 points.  Emily Joines had 13 points in just 11 minutes of action.  Crystal Zeigler had 14 points while Julia Robert had 11.  Beth Wellbaum had five points and eight assists.  Olya Cholewick had seven assists along with four points.

            Blackburn's top scorer was Sierra Shipley with 10.

            Millikin will play at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m.
