CHICAGO -- Bryanne Halfhill led three Maroons in double figures with a game-high 19 points as the University of Chicago women's basketball team defeated Olivet College 80-55 in non-conference play Saturday at the Ratner Athletics Center.
The win marked the 116th for Chicago Head Coach Aaron Roussell, moving him into the top spot on Chicago's all-time women's basketball coaching victories list.
Now 116-48 in seven years with the Maroons, Roussell surpassed Susan Brower, who was 115-76 from 1985-93.
Chicago (7-3) took a 4-3 lead 1:13 into the contest and maintained the advantage the rest of the way.
The Maroons led 37-30 at the break and held a double-digit edge for the game's final 17:41. Chicago used an 18-3 run midway through the second stanza to put the game out of reach.
Taylor Simpson and Meghan Herrick finished with 17 and 16 points, respectively, as the Maroons won their third straight game.
Morgan Herrick collected a game-high nine rebounds. Morgan and Meghan Herrick each handed out four assists.
Stephanie Spehar led Olivet (3-8) with nine points, all on three-point field goals.
The Maroons outshot the Comets 48% to 36% and held a 36-33 edge on the boards.
