Greensboro, N.C. -- Danielle Duncan and Nikki Wilburn both had 18 points as Greensboro College defeated visiting Shenandoah, 67-48, on Sunday. Duncan surpassed 1,000 points in her Pride career.
GC improved to 7-0, 3-0 USA South. SU drooped to 2-6, 0-3.
Duncan made 3-9 shots, was 12-15 from the free-throw line, and a had a game-high eight rebounds. Wilborn was 7-22 shooting. Freshman Chevena Pickard added 16 points, and five steals for the home club.
GC led 33-22 at the break. Sierra Edwards had nine points to pace the Hornets. SU won the battle of the boards, 43-39.
The Pride shot 36 percent (21-58) to Shenandoah's 30-percent (17-56). GC committed 15 turnovers. SU had 23 miscues that resulted in 15 Pride points.
A junior, Duncan now has 1013 points at GC. She surpassed the 1K scoring mark in just 62 games (16.3 PPG average).
The Pride travels to Maryville to face the Scots on Wednesday.
