December 11 2010, Waterville, ME – Wentworth was able to scrap its way back into today's game with four players scoring in double figures. The Leopards were led by Kendra Kerr who scored a team high 19 points and tallied 11 rebounds. The Leopards improve to 5-3 while the Terriers are now 2-5.

The first half saw the Terriers jump out to an early 5-0 lead then Wentworth was able to tie the game at 5-5. Thomas received a spark from their bench play of Ashley Allen (Robbinston, ME), who scored 12 points shooting 5-7 from the field. Kellie Martel (Cambridge, ME) shot an astounding 6-9 from behind the 3 pt. arc.

The Leopards' Ashley Conway led her team with 9 points. Wentworth had a rebound margin over the Terriers, 23-10. Kerr and Kirsten Vallone had 6 rebounds apiece, also added 4 points. The first half ended with a 48-31 Terrier lead.

The Leopards were able to take lead with 4:15 left in the game with two foul shots by Kerr. The Terriers had answer with a layup from Mallorie Blakney (12 points). The Leopards then had back-to-back layups by Vallone (12 points with 15 rebounds) and Jordan Biggar (6 points with 8 rebounds). The Terriers were only able to get within one point with nine seconds remaining when Blakney hit two free throws. Megan Pennock hit one foul shot with eight seconds to clinch the game. The Terriers last second shot by Blakney went off the backboard.

Thomas was led by Martel's 23 points, who finished the game shooting 7-11 from beyond the 3 pt. line. Martel also dished out a game high of five assists.

The Terriers next game will be an away contest Saturday January 8th, 2011 against the Colby Mules at 2:00 p.m.
