Lasers Fall in Last Seconds to Owls at ECSU Tournament

Willimantic, CT--Kim Archibald led the team with her first double double of the season grabbing 12 boards and scoring 10 points on Sunday, but a late 3 point shot by Emily Pelletier gave the Owls the victory in Connecticut. 

Lasell took a 1 point lead into half-time and throughout the game there were 17 lead changes and 9 ties.  With 2:57 left in the game, the Lasers trailed by 8, but  a three pointer by Katie Farr, a jumper by Molly Flynn and a three pointer by Kalya Vincelette  tied the game at 50 with just over a minute to play.  Two turnovers by UMAINE and antoher basket by Katie Farr, put the Lasers up 52-50 with :26 seconds remaining.  The Owls though, were able to put up one more three point shot with :09 remaining to seal the victory 53-52.

Four Lasers scored in double digits including Vincelette with 15, Farr with 14, JoAnna Bishop wtih 11 and Archibald with 10.  Archibald also led the team in rebounds with 12.  Vincelette added 6 assists and two steals in the defeat.

Next up, the women will travel to WNEC on Tuesday, November 23rd for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference match-up.
