INDIANOLA - Stacey Schutjer scored 11 of her game-high 19 points in the first half and Simpson rolled to an 88-64 win against Loras on Wednesday night at Cowles Fieldhouse.

In a matchup of Iowa Conference unbeatens, the Storm (5-3, 3-0 IIAC) opened an early lead and never looked back, winning their eighth game in a row in the series.

Schutjer held the hot hand in the first half, going 5-for-9 from the field. She scored six-straight points during a stretch late in the period, showing off good range on her jumper. The 6-2 junior even stepped back and knocked down a shot from the top of the key, her first-career 3-pointer.

A Schutjer jumper to end the half gave Simpson an 11-point cushion, which ballooned to 20 in the first nine minutes of the second half.

Amy Hamilton went 4-for-8 from beyond the 3-point arc, scoring 13 points on the night. Mindy Hutchcroft added 10, Ali Sokol came off the bench for nine points and six rebounds and Kate Nielsen went for eight and six.

Niki Rivera went 6 of 6 from 3-point range for the Duhawks (4-4, 2-1 IIAC), leading the team with 18 points.

Although Loras shot nearly 70 percent from behind the 3-point line (9 of 13), Simpson owned the paint, outscoring the visitors 26-8.

With conference play over for the calendar year, Simpson welcomes Crown (Minn.) to Cowles Fieldhouse on Friday evening. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
