Frank Records Double-Double in Win at UW-Stout

Menomonie, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team earned a 75-54 victory at UW-Stout Wednesday night in Johnson Fieldhouse. The Eagles, ranked 20th in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll, improve to 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the WIAC while the Blue Devils drop to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference. 

It is UW-L's second straight win at UW-Stout after picking up a 88-80 double overtime victory last season. The win last year was the first in Menomonie for UW-L since the 1992 season.

With the victory Wednesday, it was UW-L's fourth win in the last 32 meetings with UW-Stout.

The Eagles never trailed, racing out to a 8-0 lead with 17:33 remaining in the first half. The Blue Devils cut the lead to 10-5 and later trailed 27-18 with 7:21 left when UW-L went on a 7-0 run. The Eagles led 41-29 at halftime.

UW-Stout opened the second half on a 8-4 run to make it 45-37, but UW-L used a 22-3 run to lead 67-40. The Blue Devils could get no closer than the final margin of 21 points.

Danielle Frank led UW-L with 18 points and 14 rebounds, finishing nine-of-14 from the field. Melissa Lang finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, hitting three-of-seven three-point field goals. Taylor Larson added 10 points. 

The Eagles shot 53.4% from the field, including 42.9% (six-of-14) from three-point range, and 35.0% (seven-of-20) at the free throw line. 

Kayla Windt led UW-Stout with 17 points while Sami Schoeder finished with 11. The Blue Devils shot 34.5% from the field, including 28.6% (six-of-21) from three-point range, and 52.6% (10-of-19) at the line.

UW-L returns to action Saturday, Dec. 11 hosting UW-Platteville at 5:05 p.m.
