14th-Ranked Saints Defeat Chatham, 65-36, in Pittsburgh

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - Sophomore guard Chelsea Tolliver (Morning View, Ky./Simon Kenton) scored a career-high-tying 25 points as the 14th-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team defeated Chatham University, 65-36, today (Saturday, December 4, 2010) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Athletic and Fitness Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 

With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Cougars fall to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the PAC.

Chatham took an early 13-7 lead when Brittany Brown made a three-pointer with 12:38 to play in the first half.  Thomas More then closed out the half on a 16-6 run capped by a lay-up by freshman guard Devin Beasley (Burlington, Ky./Conner) with two-seconds to play in the half to give the Saints a 23-19 lead at halftime.

The Saints opened the second half on a 5-0 run to extend the lead to 28-19 when sophomore guard Allison Long (Hebron, Ky./Conner) converted an old fashion three-point play with 19:07 to play in the second half.  The Cougars responded with a 4-0 run capped by a lay-up by Sonjia Hoston to cut the lead to 28-23 at the 17:05 mark of the second half.  Thomas More would then close out the game on a 37-13 lead capped by a jumper by senior forward Dana Bors (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon) with 38-seconds to play in the game for the final score of 65-36.

Tolliver was the only Saint to reach double-figure scoring, but just missing was Bors with nine points and senior center Nicole Dickman (Park Hills, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) with eight points.  Dickman led the team on the boards with a game-high 10 rebounds, while Tolliver led the team in steals with four and senior forward Amy Stultz (Amelia, Ohio/McNicholas) led the team in assists with three.

The Saints are idle until next Saturday (December 11) when they host Westminster College at 1 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
