Bosques's 42 Nets ECAC Player Of The Week Honors

More news about: Daniel Webster

(Nashua, N.H.) – After her record-breaking performance last week and on the heels of earning the NECC women's basketball "Player of the Week" award, Daniel Webster College junior Vanessa Bosques of North Windham, Conn. has earned a second regional honor.

Bosques became the first DWC women's basketball player in program history to earn the ECAC Division III New England "Player of the Week," announced Tuesday night by the ECAC office.

Bosques set a new program and NECC single game record last week, scoring 42 points, including a remarkable 10 three-pointers in the Eagles' 74-70 home loss to Endicott College.

Bosques sizzled, going 13 of 22 from the floor, 10 for 19 from beyond the arc, and 6 of 8 from the free throw line. She added three rebounds, two steals, and two assists.

The 42 points broke the previous DWCC single game record of 36 set by Erin Moseley in January 2005, while her 10 treys surpassed the all time record of six set three times, including twice by Bosques last season.

The 2010 NECC Player of the Year and first team all conference honoree has averaged 22.7 points per game. She is also adding 5.3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1.7 assists a game for the 1-2 Eagles this season.

Under the guidance of first year Head Coach Kristin Kunzman, the Eagles are 1-2 overall on the early season and visit Fisher College in a NCAA-NAIA crossover matchup on Saturday beginning at Noon.
