Lady Bobcats drop conference opener 71-63

GREENSBURG, PA- Casey Stanton (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) and Ali Bilak (Wall, PA/East Allegheny) combined to score 36 of the Lady Bobcats 63 points but it wasn't enough as Pitt-Greensburg fell to Penn State Altoona 71-63 on Wednesday evening in Chambers Hall.

Stanton recorded her fourth straight double-double netting 19 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.  Bilak pitched in with 17 points on 7-16 shooting.

Penn State Altoona's Courtney Carroll led all scorers with 25 points while recording 14 rebounds.  Janelle Nardozza scored 15 points, adding four assists and four steals.

The Lady Bobcats led by as many as 13 points in the second half but 23 turnovers on the night would prove to be costly as they were outscored 47-34 in the second half.

Penn State Altoona used a 14-0 run late in the second half to erase a 55-47 deficit with 6:14 left to play in regulation.  When the run was completed the Lions led 61-55 with 2:10 remaining in the contest.

Pitt-Greensburg returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they host AMCC preseason favorite Medaille College at 3:00 PM in Chambers Hall.
