Pride Opens Conference Play With Win at Methodist

Fayetteville, N.C. -- Danielle Duncan had 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Greensboro College opened USA South play with a 58-43 win at  Methodist on Wednesday night. Duncan got her game-high points on 8-16 shooting and was 6-7 from the free throw line.

The Pride improved to 5-0, 1-0 and matched the 2008-09 team for the best ever start to the season. Methodist dropped to 2-4, 0-1.

Chevena Pickard scored 12 points and Nikki Wilborn added 11 for GC.

The visitors led 30-20 at halftime. The Pride forced 29 Monarch turnovers and committed 15 miscues. Greensboro won the battle of the boards, 46-41.

Emily Huneycutt scored 13 points to lead MU.

GC hosts Mary Baldwin on Dec. 11.
