Thomas Loses at Home to Monks, 68-49

The Thomas College Terriers women's basketball hosted Saint Joseph's (ME) this evening where the Monks took the win, 68-49. The Monks came into the game with a 2-3 record while Thomas was 1-2 this season. This is the first of four straight home games for the Terriers.

In the first half, Thomas' Karin Bird (Lee, ME) was able to keep the Terriers close dropping 13 points. The Monks were able to build the lead with well balanced scoring from their players. By the end of the first half, eight players had scored for Saint Joseph's who had a 43-31 lead.

In the second half, the Monks were able to shutdown Thomas' offense. The Terriers would only score 18 points. Thomas would finish the game shooting (10%) on three-point shots. This would make the Terriers score from the paint.

Saint Joseph's was led in scoring by Allie Parent and Megan McDevitt who both had 13 points apiece. Thomas' leading scorer was Bird who ended up with 13 points.

The Terriers (1-3, 0-0 NAC) will next host Saint Joseph's (NY) this Saturday December 4, 2010 at 5:00 pm.
