Trinity Women's Basketball Defeats Rivier

Hartford, Conn. – First-year Moriah Sweeney (Ramsey, N.J.) scored ten points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 65-52 win over the visiting Rivier College Raiders in women's basketball action this evening on Stan Ogrodnik Court at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity improves to 4-1 with its fourth win in a row, while the Raiders slip to 1-4 on the season.  

Junior guard Kaitlin Ciarleglio (Waterbury, Conn.) had nine points, six assists, and four rebounds, while sophomore Heather Lyhne (Wethersfield, Conn.) collected nine points and six rebounds on the evening.  Rivier first-year Britney Lane (Waterford, Vt.) led all scorers with 12 points, while classmate Jackie Penniman (Dudley, Mass.) scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Raiders.

Trinity outrebounded Rivier, 51-38 in the game, and led by as many as 26 points early in the second half.
