COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Pacific received double-doubles from Paige Jensen (So., Bemidji, Minn.) and Brittney Anderson (Jr., Missoula, Mont.) to earn the Boxers' first win of the season Sunday as they beat Walla Walla 75-53 in women's basketball action on the Walla Walla University campus.
Jensen scored a career-high 22 points on 10 of 11 shooting from the field to go along with 10 rebounds. Anderson, making her first collegiate start, added an effort of 12 points and 12 rebounds as the Boxers (1-2) shot 46.8 percent from the field (29-62) and 4 of 9 from the free throw line.
Kandice McArthur (Jr., Post Falls, Idaho) added 14 points to go along with seven rebounds.
Nicke Parks led Walla Walla (1-9) with 25 points and 15 rebounds to go along with three assists, five blocks and two steals. Parks shot 10 of 28 from the field and 5 of 7 from the free throw line. Sierra King added 15 points. As a team, the Wolves shot 32.8 percent from the field (21-64).
Pacific will now turn its attention to Northwest Conference play. The Boxers open with the Tacoma schools, playing at Pacific Lutheran on Friday and Puget Sound on Saturday.
