SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore guard Emily Savino (Ellington, CT) fired in 15 of her game-high 17 points in the second half as the Western New England College women's basketball team remained undefeated with a 65-51 victory over Lasell Tuesday night (Nov. 23) in the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Senior forward Kelly McCormick (Manchester, MA) added a double-double with 14 points and a career high 19 rebounds as the Golden Bears improved to 4-0.

Savino, who played only 10 minutes in the opening half because of foul trouble, had another outstanding performance after making 5-of-11 shots from the field, all seven free throws, while grabbing eight rebounds and handing out four assists.

Western New England College overcame a sluggish start to take a 22-18 lead at halftime and gradually built a 12-point lead at 43-31 following a basket by sophomore center Elena Radzikowski (Medway, MA) with 12:43 left in the game.

The Lasers (0-4) cut the margin to eight (46-38) when senior guard Katie Farr (Rindge, NH) drained a three-pointer at the 8:06 mark.

WNEC used a 12-5 to take its biggest lead at 58-43 on a free throw by junior guard Kathleen Jasinski (Templeton, MA) with 1:34 remaining in the contest.

Farr led three Lasell players in double figures with 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Freshman guard Kayla Vincelette (Westport, MA) contributed 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Sophomore forward Kim Archibald (Lewiston, ME) chipped in with 10 points and a team high seven rebounds.

Senior guard Taryn Belowsky (New Haven, CT) had eight points along with five rebounds, and three assists for Western New England College. Radzikowski finished with seven points and six rebounds coming off the bench.
