Cougars’ Seniors Score in Double Figures; Help Secure Victory

PITTSBURGH, PA (November 23, 2010) . . . The Chatham University women's basketball team hosted University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg tonight in non-conference match-up and defeated their opponent by a final score of 70-59.

 

Four players finished in double figures for Chatham, including Brittany Brown (Bellefontaine, OH/Bellefontaine) with 16 points, Kayla Hilko (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) with 14 points, Barb Petty (Amelia, OH/Glen Este) with 13 points, and Felicia Brown (Temple Hills, MD/Friendly) with a career-high 11 points.

 

Along with her 16 points, Brown also tallied 10 rebounds and registered her second career double-double performance of this season and the eighth of her career. Hilko's 14 points also put her over 900 points for her career (901) and she became the second player ever in the history of the program to surpass 900 career points.

 

Tonight's victory over Pitt-Greensburg marked Chatham's first ever victory over their opponent in 12 past meetings.

 

Chatham (3-1, 0-0) returns to action this Saturday and Sunday, November 27th and 28th as they host Kenyon College and Denison College. Both are non-conference contests and are scheduled to begin at 2 pm on their respective days.
