CONWAY, Ark. (Nov. 23) -- Hendrix College senior forward Christina Byler scored a season-high 22 points to lead the Warriors to a dominant 72-52 victory over Rust College.  Hendrix snaps a three-game skid with the win.

The Warriors opened the game with a 9-0 run, ignited by a 3-pointer from junior Samantha Devlin and capped by a long ball from junior Katy Ashley-Pauley with 16:00 left in the first half.  Hendrix eventually stretched its lead to 14 points (31-17) with 4:11 left before the break and took a 37-26 margin into the locker room.

Rust came out of the locker room with intensity and a full-court press gave Hendrix trouble.  The Bearcats clawed their way back into the game and narrowed their deficit to five points (47-42) with 9:53 left in regulation.  The Warriors responded with six unanswered points and would not let their lead slip under nine points the rest of the way.

Hendrix crashed the boards and out-rebounded Rust 49-25.  First year Jamie Tate led the Warriors with 12 rebounds.  Byler was close behind with nine boards.  Junior Jordan Henderson finished with 12 points, while Ashley-Pauley tallied 11 points and a team-high six assists.

Juniors Al'lisha Hudson and Tremelanie McFadden led Rust with 12 points apiece.  Junior Destini Shannon paced the Bearcats with six rebounds and Hundson added a team-best four steals.

After playing five games in nine days, Hendrix will take a well-deserved week off from action.  The Warriors travel to Holly Springs, Miss. to face Rust once again on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m. CT.
