BW Men's Basketball Drops OAC Road Game to Capital

BEXLEY, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's basketball team fell to Capital University in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup by a final score of 82-76 in the Performance Arena inside of the Capital Center.

BW Leaders (9-12, 5-9 OAC)

  • Junior All-OAC guard Ray Ellington (Westlake) dominated the floor for the Jackets with an astounding team-high 34 points, six rebounds and one assist. Ellington's point total is now the highest individual game-high for points scored this season and the best of his career.

Capital Leaders (8-13, 5-9 OAC)

  • Senior guard Justin Nixon tallied 14 points with six rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
  • Junior guard McKane Finkenbine notched 13 points with a team-high 11 assists and two steals.

First Half

  • BW outscored Capital 37-36
  • The Yellow Jackets won the three-pointer battle by a 7-3 margin
  • The Comets provided the most assists with 10

Second Half

  • Capital outscored the Brown and Gold 46-39
  • The Comets had the most assists with 10
  • Capital scored the most three-pointers with three total

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 12 as they travel to University Heights for an OAC matchup against crosstown rival John Carroll University. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. in the DeCarlo Varsity Center.
