Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (2/1/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (17-3, 5-2) honored four signature seniors before bagging a 90-73 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) victory over Pratt Instiutute. It was the Griffins second straight win over the league's newcomer as the Red and Gold defeated the Cannoneers by a 79-60 measure in Tuesday's (Jan. 28) meeting in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to today's affair, Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics recognized the collegiate careers of senior guard Mike Marable (Philadelphia, Pa.), senior guard Aquil Stewart (Philadelphia, Pa.), graduate guard Shawn Summers Jr. (Montclair, N.J.), and senior forward Dom Thomas (Mullica Hill, N.J.). Three of the four Red and Gold seniors scored at least 10 points in the win; Stewart led with 20 points. Marable netted 19, and Summers added 14 more. In recognition of Coaches Versus Cancer, the Pratt Institute and Gwynedd Mercy University coaching staffs wore sneakers in National solidarity to raise Cancer awareness.

- The second of two free throws from junior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) pushed Gwynedd Mercy University's first-half lead over Pratt Institute to double digits for the time; 41-31 (4:54).
- From there, the Griffins' victory was never truly in danger as the Red and Gold parlayed their 11-point, 51-40 (0:41), halftime lead into a 90-73 victory with 10 Cannoner turnovers and a 16-of-22 (.727) second-half free throw performance.
- Gwynedd Mercy University shot 47.0% (31-of-66) from the field, 38.5% (10-of-26) from three-point range, and 69.2% (18-of-26) from the free throw line.
- The Griffins forced the Cannoneers into 24 total turnovers. It is the eighth time this season that Gwynedd Mercy University has turned over their opponent at least 20 times.
- In addition to his points, Stewart recorded two rebounds, two assists, and a team-high six steals.
- Marable offered team-highs in rebounds (8) and assists (5) in addition to his points. He also made two steals.
- Summers scores came with three rebounds and an assist, while Thomas complimented his nine points with three rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
- Johnson was the fourth Griffin in double digits; he paired his 10 points with two rebounds, an assist, and three steals.
