DUDLEY, Mass. (1/28/2025) – Sophomore forward Simon Percy scored a career-best 29 points to lead the Nichols College men's basketball team to a 94-77 victory over conference opponent Gordon College on "Pink Out" night at the Nichols Athletic Center.

The Bison avenge their previous loss in overtime to the Fighting Scots and improve to 9-9 (6-5 CNE) overall. Gordon, with the loss, drops to 7-11 (3-8 CNE).

Percy, who has now scored 20 points in each of his last three games, was 10-of-14 (71.4%) from the field in the victory, as well as 3-of-5 (60.0%) from three-point territory with a game-high nine rebounds, and four assists. Ryan Savoy and Javen Flowers-Smith each tallied 15 points, plus combining for nine boards and six assists, while Jason Peters and Luke Chapman each scored 12 apiece. Peters also nabbed six rebounds and added two steals. The Bison enjoyed one of their best shooting performances of the season thus far, going 40-of-65 (55.5%) from the field while winning the battle of the boards, 39-31.

Gordon erased an early 10-4 deficit to trail the Bison by only one point at 10-9 six minutes in, which introduced a lengthy stretch of equal play between the two sides. Past the midway point of the half, the score eventually found itself tied on two different occasions, before Gordon shifted its way into the lead at 26-24 on a three-point jumper with 5:23 left. Both sides continued to find ways to score throughout the remaining time in the half, with Nichols forcing a 34-34 tie at the intermission on a final second jumper by Harrison Stanwood before the buzzer.

Following the break, Nichols opened the second half with back-to-back layups from Percy and Peters, pushing them back in front, 38-34. Gordon continued to present quick responses, however, as they narrowed the margin before taking the lead for a second time, 44-42 lead shortly thereafter. Nichols then embarked on a 9-0 run behind consecutive triples from Percy, Peters and Olivier St. Louis to expand Nichols' lead to seven points, 51-44, just ahead of a second 12-2 run that further widened the gap to 12 points at 65-53 with 10:53 left, culminating in a layup from Peters. This proved to be the boost the Bison needed, as they only continued to add to their lead throughout the remainder of the contest, building up to their eventual 94-77 victory.

The Bison will look to keep the ball rolling this Saturday, February 1st with a CNE contest against Curry College (2-16, 1-10 CNE). Tip off is scheduled for 3:30 PM at the Nichols Athletic Center.
