William Paterson Men's Basketball Falls at TCNJ

EWING, N.J. – The William Paterson men's basketball team (5-12, 1-9 NJAC) fell 93-76 to The College of New Jersey (13-4, 6-4 NJAC) in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) road game Jan. 22.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • A 10-5 William Paterson run to close the first half pulled the Pioneers within 10 (41-31) .
  • The Lions came out of the halftime break and went on a 26-10 run that spanned 8:27 to extend their lead to 26 (67-41).
  • The Pioneers made it a 12-point game (76-64) with 5:32 left to play after a 23-9 run. However, TCNJ held on for the 93-76 victory.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Senior Andre Wells went 5-for-6 (.833) from the field and 7-for-7 (1.000) from the foul line for a team-best 17 points.
  • He added five rebounds and a game-high eight assists.
  • Freshman Jianni Moran scored a career-best 17 points on 6-of-10 (.600) shooting while knocking down five shots from long range.
  • Seniors Shane Geene and Neftali Valentin finished with 11 points apiece.
