How It Happened
• The game was very sloppy from the start as the two teams were missing shots and committing turnovers. After York pushed back and took a 20-19 lead on a Kai Cipalla three pointer, the Lions went on a 9-3 spurt to take a 28-23 advantage with 3:38 before the half. The Spartans ended the first half on a 10-0 run that covered the final 3:07 of the stanza. The Spartans went 8-for-8 from the free throw line during the run to take a five-point halftime lead.
• The Spartans build on their lead out of the half with a 12-4 run, capped by three pointers from Tate Landis as the York lead grew 45-32. The Lions scored six straight points midway through the half to slice the Spartan lead to seven at 47-40. The teams traded hoops in their next possessions before the Green and White ripped off an 8-0 spurt started with a Pat Gilhool three, growing the lead to 15.
• Albright scored five straight to cut the lead to ten at 57-47 but that was as close as the Lions would get the rest of the way.
