Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball scored over 100 points for the first time this season in a 112-72 NJAC victory over William Paterson University. The Roadrunners extend their win streak to eight games and improve to 12-3 overall, 6-2 in the NJAC. The Pioneers move to 5-10 overall and 1-7 in the league.
Ramapo scored the first basket of the game on a jumper from Anthony Corbo and never looked back as they built a 17-point lead heading into the locker room at halftime. WPU shrunk the lead to just five with just over three minutes left to play in the first before Ramapo finished out the half on a 17-5 run. Peter Gorman collected two three-pointers in the run including one to end the half.
In the second half, Ramapo continued to build their lead and eclipsed the 100-point mark on a layup from Jack O'Leary off a dish from Enoch Hutchison, 101-65 with 5:51 remaining. Hutchison would make it a 40-point game with a three-pointer of his own as Isaiah Chung earned the assist, 106-66. Every Roadrunner who checked into the game tonight scored for the team. They were led by Gorman who tallied 26 points including five three-pointers while adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Shane Rooney posted a season high 17 points along with seven rebounds and one assist. Tim Linton collected 14 points finishing 7-7 from the field while Branden Moore tallied 11 points in eight minutes of action. Jordan Myers posted a team high eight rebounds while adding nine points and a career high eight assists. Tyrell Murchison posted a season high 10 points while adding five assists and four rebounds. Justin Bladen collected seven points and Hutchinson added five. Ramapo shot 59% (42-71) from the field, 47% (10-21) from the three-point line and 64% (18-28) from the free throw line. The Roadrunners collected 56 points in the paint in tonight's game while they added 14 second chance points along with 17 points off of WPU turnovers.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 18th when they travel to Stockton University for a NJAC game at 3:00 PM.
