Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (1/13/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (13-0) eased past the University of Valley Forge (6-8) in tonight's 94-48 final as dominant ratios in rebounds (49-39), turnovers (11-23), and a 27.6% (16-of-58) Patriot shooting percentage precipitated the lopsided score. Graduate guard Dylan Harris (Bloomsburg, Pa.) hit 8-of-9 (.889) from the floor - including 5-of-6 (.833) from three-point range - in his first start for the Red and Gold; he headlined four Griffins in double figures with a career-high 21 points.

- Gwynedd Mercy University put distance between themselves and the University of Valley Forge early in the contest as the deficit reached double digits, 25-14, on a three-point basket from senior guard Aquil Stewart (Philadelphia, Pa.) with 11:35 remaining in the first half.
- A three-point basket from sophomore guard Justin Savage (Philadelphia, Pa.) made the difference more than 20 points, 41-20 (6:42), less than five minutes later and it only got larger from there as the Griffins owned a 54-29 (0:15) halftime lead, a 63-33 lead with 15:51 still to play, and a 78-38 with 9:12 left on the clock, before settling the 94-48 (0:33) decision.
- The Red and Gold enjoyed their sixth game with 10 threes or more; they were 11-of-32 (.344) from beyond the arch.
- Gwynedd Mercy University did not have trouble finishing in the paint either as they scored 42 of their 94 points in under the basket.
- The Griffins also recorded 36 points off Patriot turnovers, 27 points on the fastbreak, and 32 off the bench. Savage led the reserves with 13 points; he also totaled six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
- Harris paired his high scoring performance with six rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Stewart finished with 17 points, three assists, and two steals.
- Graduate guard Shawn Summers Jr. (Montclair, N.J.) was the fourth Griffin in double figures. He finished with 14 points in excess of three rebounds and four assists.
- Junior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) spearheaded the Red and Gold defense and directed play with five assists, six rebounds, and five steals. He also scored a pair of baskets (2-of-8, .250).
