Junior wing Jessee Battle sank a 3-pointer to tie the game at 29, but Denison answered with a 9-0 run to take the lead for good and went on to a 92-63 North Coast Athletic Conference win over Ohio Wesleyan on Thursday in Granville.

Ohio Wesleyan had broken a 10-10 tie with a 10-2 run that included 3-pointers by senior post Phil Wallace and fifth-year post Tony Carter, and the Bishops still led, 24-18, after a dunk by senior wing David Rice, but the Big Red came back with an 11-2 run that included 3 buckets and a free throw by Tyler Miller before Battle's 3-pointer knotted the score at 29.

Denison scored the next 9 points, getting a basket and a 3-pointer from Cameron Smith along the way, and the hosts would stretch the lead to 47-37 as Miller hit a 3-pointer and a jumper early in the second half.

Wallace drilled a 3-pointer and Carter followed with a fast-break lay-in to bring the Bishops within 47-42, but Denison scored the next 7 points, with Smith contributing a 3-pointer and a traditional 3-point play, to push the lead to a dozen at 54-42.  That pattern repeated itself when Rice sank a 3-pointer to kick off a 7-0 run that brought Ohio Wesleyan within 54-49 and Denison countered with 3-pointers by Scotty Dean and Smith to stretch the margin back into double digits before the Big Red pulled away during the final minutes.

Senior guard Henry Hinkle led the Bishops with 11 points, while Carter finished with 10.  Wallace had a team-high 6 rebounds and junior guard Isaac Ward had a team-best 4 assists.
