Blazers flood Gophers on the road

BALTIMORE, Md. –  The effectiveness of Jude Huseby (Frederick, Md./Urbana) and Kullen Robinson (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City) from the field along with the Blazers shooting over 60 percent in the second half launched the matchup on the road against Goucher into landslide fashion in the 101-45 win on Wednesday afternoon.

Inside the Box Score

Kullen Robinson (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City) scored 23 points effectively in the win.
Jude Huseby (Frederick, Md./Urbana) dropped 15 points including two steals and a block.
Garrison Linton (New Market, Md./Oakdale) had eight points with seven rebounds and six assists.

How it Happened

The Blazers rattled off 12 unanswered points in the first five minutes of play on enemy turf. The Gophers responded with three made baskets beyond the arc and some points at the line to pull within five at 17-12.

Goucher would soon struggle to find an answer for big man Huseby and the shifty Robinson in the paint. Huseby utilized his frame and was fed the ball repeatedly to suddenly put the Gophers comeback plans on hold.

Capitalizing on missed shots and reducing second chances led to only six points scored by Goucher in the last seven minutes of the half.

Covering the big man down low still led to the problem of Robinson pulling up from three or charging the paint to as big as a 19-point deficit for the home squad in the first half.

Halftime was only holding off the work that these two had to finish, Robinson pulled up and drained a three to start play while Huseby finished both at the line and at the glass to bring the match out of reach.

The time left was spent giving contributors opportunity to find their stride but also continue to tire the Gophers staff.

"It was great to get a game where we started to click on all cylinders and get all of our guys involved," said head coach Chad Dickman. "I thought the pace was great and we put drove a stake into them when we had the opportunity. Very happy to go into Christmas Break coming off a win like that.

With a team low in points allowed and the largest margin of winning this season the Blazers create a winning streak after dropping three in-a-row.
