JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's basketball team used a strong defensive performance to win its fifth-straight game, stopping Millikin, 65-53, on Wednesday at Sherman Gymnasium.
The victory pushed IC to 5-0 while the Big Blue moved to 1-2.

The Blueboys held Millikin to just 16 first half points. IC's biggest lead of the opening period was 14 (27-13) at the 1:06 mark. The Blueboys enjoyed a 27-16 cushion at the break.
IC broke open the contest in the second half, growing its lead to 49-22 with 11:35 to play and cruised home with the victory from there.
Josh Harris led four Blueboys in double figures with 16 points. Austin Robinson added 12 and Buzz Ritzel and Jaylen Swinney each had 10. Swinney also had a game-high 12 rebounds while Javonte McKenzie chipped in with eight boards of his own.

IC has won 37 of its last 42 games and 54 of the past 59… the Blueboys are 21-1 in their past 22 non-conference regular season games…. Ritzel now has 936 career points while Harris sits at 921 in their quests to join the 1,000 career-point club at IC.
