GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team opened its 2024-25 season with an 81-54 victorover Vassar (N.Y.) at the Gettysburg Tip-Off Tournament on Friday night.

- Sophomore Carter Reese (Westerville/North) led the team with 19 points and also grabbed six rebounds as well as 5 assists.
- Sophomore Jadi Cunningham Jr. (Columbus/Westerville South) finished with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists off the bench.
- Senior Will Miller (Ottoville) added ten points, snagged five rebounds and had two assists.
- Junior Mason Studer (Galion/Colonel Crawford) scored ten and had three assists.
- Nathan Denham led Vassar with 18 points.
- The Polar Bears jumped to an 11-0 lead early in the first half.
- The Ploar Bears would ride that early start to hold a 9-point 34-25 halftime lead.
- ONU continued to lead and with 8:47 left in the second half they would go on a 10-2 run building a 22-point lead at 65-43.
- Ohio Northern was 27-of-58 from the floor for 46.6 percent and made 14-37 three-pointer for 37.8 percent, while Vassar finished 17-of-53 from the field for 32.1 percent and 3-of-17 from three-point range for 17.6 percent.
- ONU made 13-of-16 free throws for 81.3 percent and VC was 17-of-26 from the foul line for 65.4 percent.
- The Polar Bears out-rebounded the Brewers 39-33.
