Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (2/21/2024) - #2 Gwynedd Mercy University (17-9) advanced to the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Finals with tonight's 86-76 victory over #3 Marywood University (14-13); the Griffins used 12 first-half turnovers against the Pacers, establishing a 40-33 halftime perch before fending off the visitors down the stretch. Senior guard JoHaan Vinson (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Red and Gold with his third double-double of the season as he paired his team-high 21 points with a dozen (12) rebounds. Three other Griffins finished in double figures, including junior guard Aquil Stewart (Philadelphia, Pa.) (16), junior guard Mike Marable (Philadelphia, Pa.) (14), and graduate guard Manny Clark (Pottsgrove, Pa.) (11).

• Gwynedd Mercy University was efficient from the floor, hitting 58.8% (30-of-51) of their field goal attempts.
• They shot well from the free throw line as well, converting 18-of-22 (.818) of their chances from the charity stripe.
• Vinson was 8-of-11 (.727) from the field and 4-of-4 (1.000) from the free throw line. He added four assists and two blocks to his double-double.

Gwynedd Mercy University will travel to Arlington, Virginia, on Saturday, February 24, to face #1 Marymount University for the AEC Championship. A tip-off time has yet to be announced.
