Beavers Defeat Owls in SLIAC Game

COLUMBUS, MS- Blackburn College Men's Basketball Moves to a 4-1 record in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with their win against the Mississippi University for Women Owls 71-57.

The Beavers were led by Senior Izyah Talmadge scoring 20 points, sophomore Cayden Paquette put up 13 points for the Beavers. Talmadge also leading the Beavers in rebounds grabbing nine, Zach Kelsey and Cayden Paquette both grab six for BC.

The Beavers  started off strong with a good layup, free throw, and three pointer by Izyah Talmadge putting the Beavers up 6-3. Darius Duff breaks the tie putting BC up 19-18 with a good free throw. Cameron Johnson ends the half with a jumper taking the Beavers to the locker room 39-30 before the second half. Zach Kelsey starts the second half off for BC putting in a three pointer. Eleven good free throws in a row put the Beavers up 54-43. They took the lead and ran with it taking home a win 71-57.

The Beavers move to 4-7 and 4-1 in the Conference, their next SLIAC matchup will be this Saturday versus Lyon College at 3:00 PM in Batesville, Arkansas.
