The Flying Dutchmen completed a perfect run through New York City on Friday with a 91-58 victory at Lehman College in the Bronx.
It was Hope's second win in the Big Apple in two days. On Thursday, the Flying Dutchmen won at Yeshiva University, 87-79, in Upper Manhattan.
Hope heads into the new year with an 8-3 record. The Flying Dutchmen will shift to MIAA play in 2024, beginning on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at The University of Olivet.
Senior forward Tanner Wiegerink (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa HS) topped a balanced Hope attack with 13 points.
Wiegerink made all five of his field-goal attempts and reached double figures in scoring for the third consecutive game.
Sophomore guard Justice Mims (Rochester Hills, Michigan / Adams) contributed 11 points.
Senior guard Clayton Dykhouse (Zeeland, Michigan / Zeeland East) added 10 points.
Junior guard Josh Decker (Cuyahoga Falls, Michigan / Woodridge) and senior forward TJ McKenzie (Muskegon, Michigan / North Muskegon) each contributed nine points.
Against Lehman, Hope never trailed. The score was tied just twice in the first four minutes after the opening tipoff.
The Flying Dutchmen cruised to a 55-29 halftime lead by shooting 60% from the field during the first half (21-35), including 55.6% from 3-point range (10-18).
Hope finished with 13 3-pointers, its second-most this season and most since 15 during a November 15 victory at home against Concordia University (Wis.).
The Flying Dutchmen shot a season-best 55.2% from the field for the entire game.
Hope earned a 50-39 edge on the boards, with junior center Gabe Quillan (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central) grabbing a game-high 11.
The game marked Quillan's eighth this season with double-digit rebounds.
