Langhorne, Pa. - (12/11/2023) - JoHaan Vinson (Philadelphia, Pa.) was an undeniable force in tonight's 91-82 victory at Cairn University (6-4), as the senior guard hit six three-point baskets (6-of-11, .545) in a career-high 33-point performance that he paired with a career-high 14 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Gwynedd Mercy University (4-5) trailed the Highlanders for most of the first half and did so by as many as nine points, 39-30, as late as the three-minute mark (3:05) before meeting them at at 41-41 (0:03) halftime stalemate. In the second half, the Griffins remained the trail horse until the final four minutes of the contest; there, five straight Vinson points broke the Red and Gold from a 74-74 (4:22) tie and spirited for them for the eventual nine-point triumph.

- Gwynedd Mercy University gave Cairn University trouble on the perimeter as the Highlanders only hit 12-of-34 (.353) from three-point range.
- The Griffins also held a slight edge on the glass, 45-44, and kept the pace up-tempo with 13 fastbreak points.
- Vinson was 11-of-19 (.579) from the field and 5-of-7 (.714) from the free throw line.
- He was joined in double figures by sophomore guard Aquil Stewart (Philadelphia, Pa.) (14 points), junior forward Dom Thomas (Mullica Hill, N.J.) (13), and senior guard Aziz Parker (Westampton, N.J.) (10).
- Stewart also recorded four rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Thomas additionally totaled three rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal. Meanwhile, Parker added two rebounds and three assists to his double-digit scoring effort.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Saturday, December 16, when they visit Lebanon Valley College for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
