RIC Opens Conference Play in, 67-55, Win vs. VTSU Castleton

Providence, R.I.--Freshman guard CJ Wilson (Hartford, Conn.) scored 14 points, secured four rebounds and dished out four assists as the Rhode Island College men's basketball team defeated Vermont State University Castleton, 67-55, in Little East action played at The Murray Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Junior guard Isiah McCallam (Orange, N.J) got things started for the Anchormen by scoring 10 points in the first six minutes of the game.
 
• RIC would go up, 23-9, midway through the first half before the Spartans would go on a 10-2 run to respond. The Anchormen answered back by going on an 8-0 run of their own to go up by nine points, 33-24, going into halftime.
 
• The second half was a back-and-forth affair with neither team establishing any sustained scoring runs. The Anchormen never saw their advantage dip below seven points for the entirety of the second half.
 
• Sophomore guard Isaiah Dahl (Cornelius, Ore.) scored 17 points and knocked down 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
 
• McCallam finished with 13 points and five boards.
