Cook, Recore Double-Doubles Lead Cardinals over Rochester, 81-73

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's basketball team hosted the final day of the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout and the Cardinals battled the University of Rochester. Fisher was able to hold on to their lead in the second half to claim the victory, 81-73.

The first-half saw neither team lead by more then four, and key makes by Connor Recore, Jack Foley and Connor Williams help Fisher hold a 37-33 advantage at the break. The Cardinals did not give up their lead in the second-half, and their largest lead came in the 12:52 mark when a Williams three put the team in front 55-43. The Yellowjackets tried their best to battle back, but they could not get closer then six points. Fisher held on to win 81-73.

Record, who was named to the All-Tournament team, recorded a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while adding two steals and two assists. Daniel Cook added a double-double of his own, with 17 points and 11 rebounds, in addition to two steals, two blocks and two assists. Brendan McRoy and Foley each tallied double-digit scoring, with McRoy tallying 14 points and Foley adding 10.

Up next is a trip to Pittsburgh, when the Cardinals will take on Carnegie Mellon on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The game is scheduled for a 5:30p.m. tip-off.
