RADNOR, PA - Khalif Meares, Marcellus Ross and Ja'Zere Noel combined for 71 points as Rowan rolled over Eastern, 114-86, in non-conference basketball action this evening, as the Profs improved to 3-0 on the year.
Meares scored a game-high 25 points on 11-for-16 shooting while picking up three steals, with Ross scoring 24 points as he connected on four three-pointers. Noel scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the year.
The Profs took their first double-digit lead, 37-26, after Booty Butler scored on a fastbreak, which started on a steal by Meares. Rowan built it up to 15 points, 41-26, with over five minutes left in the first half on a jumper by Ross,and held a 50-37 at halftime.
Although Rowan shot 52 percent from the field in the first half, they bettered that in the second by hitting 63.4 percent (21-of-33). Just seven minutes into the second half, Rown had a 20-point lead, 70-50, and was up by 26, 86-50 with under nine minutes to play. The Profs crusied the rest of the way and surpassed the 100-point mark for the first time this year when Ross hit a three-pointer with 4:52 remaining, for the 102-73 advantage.
The Profs drained seven three-pointers in the half, shooting 53.8 percent. Rowan registered 15 steals in the game and scored 24 points off turnovers.
Rowan is idle this weekend before beginning NJAC play against rival Stockton on November 21st at home.
