The Wolves were the first to put points on the board with a pair of free throws from Cam Banks (Titusville, Fl. / Space Coast). The Wolves had answers for the Wildcats baskets in the first half, like a three-pointer from Mason VanDeMortal (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) to tie the game 11-11 with 14 minutes left in the half. Poly started to pull away with five minutes remaining. The Wolves struggled to find their offensive stride down 14, 48-34, at the half.

The Wildcats kept the lead throughout the second half. The Wolves continued their efforts, chipping away at the point deficit. A layup by Ezeke Pulliam (Altamont, N.Y. / Berne-Knox-Westerlo) cut the margin to five, 69-64, with nine minutes left to play.
