The Guilford College men's basketball team traveled to Virginia to face the Panthers of Ferrum College. The 16th-ranked Quakers bested the Panthers, 75-65.

Tyler Dearman led all scorers with a career-high 28 points, going 10-18 from the field. Jorden Davis finished with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Tyler Dearman scored the opening layup for Guilford (17-4, 10-2). Ferrum (8-13, 4-8) responded with a three but the Quakers took off from there. GC notched 17 of the next 20 points to jump out to a 13-point (19-6) lead with 11:24 left in the first half.

The Panthers battled back and pulled with four (24-20) with a 14-5 run. However, Dearman led the Quakers on a 15-2 run with the senior guard scoring eight of them. The stretch gave Guilford a 17-point edge (39-22) at the break.

Out of the locker room, GC went on a 10-3 run over the first five minutes to go up by 24 (49-25). Ferrum tried to cut the deficit but were only able to make it 16 (57-41). The game remained in a constant back-and-forth flow as the Quakers won by 11 points.

GC won the battle on the boards, 44-21 and scored 32 points in the paint. Additionally, the visitors scored 26 second chance points.

Guilford hits the road on Saturday, February 4 as it faces Randolph College. Start time is 4:30 p.m.
